The Tony Esposito Big Band will take the stage at Walnut Beach at 4 p.m. Sunday for the final performance at Big Bands on the Beach.
Esposito’s group has always been a local crowd favorite, having played local venues, events and weddings.
The band plays a variety of popular favorites from the 1930s and 1940s, and focuses on swing music that showcases Tony’s trumpet playing, as well as that of other band members.
Big Bands on the Beach is hosted by the City of Ashtabula, and sponsored by Ashtabula County Medical Center. It is organized by Ashtabula resident Timothy Kalil, PhD.
The musical starts at 4 p.m. During intermission at 4:45 p.m., ACMC Certified Diabetes Educator Lori Gilhousen will speak about diabetes and pre-diabetes. She will offer free blood sugar tests throughout the afternoon.
Also, during intermission, the local quartet Spirit Bound will perform.
The entertainment all takes place at the concession stand on the west side of the park. Restrooms will be open to the public, however the concession stand will be closed (you may bring your own food).
The free, two-hour concert is a rain or shine event. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on, and something for shade, if needed.
