Lakeside presents Broadway Dinner

SAYBROOK — The Lakeside Commons will be transformed into a dinner theater with a professional stage, sound and lighting May 11 when the Lakeside Theater Company presents the Broadway Dinner.

This year’s Broadway Dinner will feature more than 60 students will perform on stage or play their instruments in the jazz ensemble. The show is produced and directed by LHS choir director Andrea Tredent and the jazz ensemble is under the direction of Michelle Falcione.

“The event is a great experience for the students, because it gives so many of them the opportunity to take center stage,” Tredent said. “Many students have been working on songs for months. The students pick the songs they want to perform and then we work individually or in small groups after school to learn the music and choreography.”

Phil’s Catering will provide the dinner buffet, which will include salad, bread and dipping oil, and a dessert. Doors open 6 p.m., with show starting at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $20 each and may be bought individually or as a table of 10. Only 200 tickets will be sold and reservations will be taken until Friday. For reservations, call 440-993-2540.
