Conneaut Creek Cleanup day is May 4

CONNEAUT — The 10th Annual Conneaut Creek Cleanup day will be May 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Launching point is the CLYO Ballfields, Center Street, Conneaut.

Any volunteer under the age of 18 will be required to have a signed release form completed prior to the event unless an adult, parent or guardian accompanies them. Registration can be made in advance by calling Robert Best, 599-1972, or Matt Spero, 593-5317.

Registra-tions will be accepted the day of the event, as well.

Volunteers should wear high-top work boots with non-skid soles, hat, long pants and long-sleeve shirt for protection.

Any person who knows of a site needing attention along Conneaut Creek or its tributaries, call Best or Spero.

Supporters for this year’s event are Ohio Division of Watercraft, The Great Outdoors Store, Conneaut Moose Lodge No. 472, Ohio Central Basin Steelheaders, Boy Scouts, Snug Harbor Bait and Tackle, Newhart Refuse Removal and City of Conneaut.

Lunch will be served at the conclusion of the event and prizes handed out to participants.
