Diesel trucks to growl for the APL

ASHTABULA — Horsepower is going to the dogs on Saturday as Twisted Innovations by Ti-Dyno will host the Diesel Dyno Day at the customization shop at 776 Center St. from 9 a.m. until the last truck burns rubber. The event is open to the public.

“We usually see the last truck around 4 p.m.,” vehicle customizer Kevin Cragon said, “and the day is a lot of fun.”

The event, called “Rocktoberfest,” will benefit the Ashtabula County Animal Protective League, Cragon said.

“We got our dog Maggie at the shelter 16 years ago,” he said. “She recently died and we are so grateful for the nearly 17 years we had with her and we want to give something back to the shelter to help make the lives of the animals better as they wait for their forever homes.”

Anyone can enter a diesel pickup truck into the competition. Registration is $75 for three pulls.

The event will also serve as a drop-off for shelter donations.

Diesel-heads can bring in $15 worth of donations to the shelter and get $25 the Dyno fee.

The event will also feature a 50/50 raffle and a diesel performance parts raffle for exhaust and tuners. Food will be available for a donation, Cragon said.

Pre-registration is appreciated, but not necessary and can be made by calling (474-2059).
