Holiday trains on display at Jefferson Historical Society

JEFFERSON — The Jefferson Historical Society, 42 E. Jefferson St., will be changed to a wonderland of model train displays, complete in a beautifully decorated holiday setting.

The running trains will be going from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Dec. 7 and Dec. 14. It is a display that will delight young and old alike.

On the 7th, the Rotary of Jefferson will have available Amish cheese for sale by the piece.

“We always sell out with our cheese,” said Woody Waters, Rotary member. “It tastes delicious and even freezes well. It will be sold by the piece, so if you have a hard to please person on your gift list, the cheese selection could be your answer.”

The kitchen will be open during the display. On the menu will be ham sandwiches, corn dogs, and soups. Food is available by donation.

“The Historical Society will also have a table at the Community Center on Dec. 7,” said Norma Waters, of the Historical Society. “Pot holders, holiday runners, etc. will be available. The stocking stuffer winner is Trinity Treasures cookbook. We have lowered the price to a mere $2.”

The Jefferson Historical Society is handicapped accessible. There is plenty of free parking behind the building.

This event is open to the public free of charge.

Any funds realized will be used in the preservation of the former Trinity Church which is now the headquarters of the Jefferson Historical Society.
