MADISON TOWNSHIP — Police are looking for a white or cream colored vehicle following a fatal hit and run crash near the intersection of Hubbard Road and Tarbell Avenue late Friday night, according to a press release written by Sgt. Matthew Byers of the Madison Township Police.

Joseph Gersin, a Madison Township resident in his late 20s or early 30s, was transported to Lake Health Emergency Department, after he was found lying in the road, where he was later pronounced dead, according to Byers and Sgt. Ralf Caswell.

“A caller advised that there was an unresponsive male lying in the roadway,” Byers said.

“The male (Gersin) appeared to have been struck by a vehicle which then left the scene,” Byers said. Sgt. Ralf Caswell said police were able to determine it was a hit and run case because of the injuries to the victim and pieces of the car were left behind.

“The vehicle is believed to be white or cream colored and should have front end damage, possibly including the windshield,” Byers said.

“It is still under investigation. (We are) checking any leads we get and running it down to the end,” Caswell said .

If any one has information related to the crash contact the Madison Township Police Department at 440-428-2115.
