ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP — Police converged on a Jefferson Road house Monday afternoon, arresting a man wanted on a felonious sexual assault charge in Erie.

The 33-year-old man was taken without incident at 6202 Jefferson Road and is awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania to face a felony charge of sexual assault, said Det. Greg Leonhard of the TAG Law Enforcement Task Force.

Erie police notified the Sheriff’s Department of the man’s possible Ashtabula location.

“At first there was no answer at the door,” he said. “Then, he came out the front door.”

Police recovered two guns — one found to be stolen — a small amount of heroin, drug paraphernalia and $1,000 in cash, Leonhard said.

TAG has received complaints of drug dealings going on at that address, he said.

The man, whose name is being withheld by police, was handcuffed and transported to the Ashtabula County jail in Jefferson.

Additional charges are pending and will be filed by the Ashtabula Police Department, he said.

Assisting TAG in Monday’s arrest were Ohio Bureau of Criminal Iden-tification and Investigation, Ashtabula Police Depart-ment and the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office, Leonhard said.
