ASHTABULA — The Ashtabula Downtown Development Association (ADDA) will host Downtown Laughs, an evening of comedy featuring local talent,   March 15-16 at Casa Capelli Restaurant.

“This is the fourth year for Downtown Laughs,” Tina Stasiewski, committee member, said. “The event gets more and more popular. Both nights last year were near sell-outs, so get your tickets early.”

The comics performing in Downtown Laughs 2013 have names that Ashtabula Countians will recognize, but because of scheduling conflicts, the line ups for Friday and Saturday are slightly different.

Performing both nights are Tim Boothby, Elaine Christen, J.P. Ducro IV and Municipal Judge Albert Camplese. Dr. Jeff Brodsky will perform Saturday night.

“We have a mix of returning and new talent for 2013,” Stasiewski said. “It should be another great show.”

Tony Orlando and Bill Herzog will share the microphone as emcees for the night.

Attendees will again be able to purchase ballots to vote for their favorite comedian. The winning comedian will have his or her name displayed on the Downtown Laughs plaque that hangs in Casa Capelli and will be given a trophy to permanently memorialize the winning routing. There will also be a 50-50 raffle each night.

Tickets to Downtown Laughs are $30 per person and include admittance to the show and buffet dinner. A cash bar will be available.

Doors open at 6 p.m., with dinner at 6:45 p.m. and the show at 8 p.m.

Reservations can be made by calling Oscar Tomasio at Casa Capelli Restaurant at 992-3700. Once your reservation is made, a member of the Downtown Laughs committee will coordinate delivery of your tickets. Tickets must be paid in advance and presented at the door the night of the event. When making your reservation, please indicate if you need special accommodations.

Proceeds from Downtown Laughs will be used to support the activities of the Ashtabula Downtown Development Association.
