Goodwill celebrating 63rd Annual Goodwill Industries Week

ASHTABULA — Nearly 11 million Americans are unemployed, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Working to combat the employment challenges , Goodwill Industries of Ashtabula, Inc. will host a variety of events, including site tours, during Goodwill Industries Week, today through Saturday.

Goodwill is the nation’s leading non-profit provider of job training, employment placement services and other community-based programs that are funded through the sale of donated clothing and household items.

Last year, 239 people in northeast Ohio who were struggling to find and keep good jobs benefited from Goodwill services.

“Goodwill has been connecting people in Northeast Ohio to the world of work since 1935,” said Blake Johnston, vice president of marketing and development for Goodwill. “When you give to Goodwill, you are helping your neighbors to strengthen their families, and you’re strengthening our community. During this annual celebration of Goodwill Industries Week, we want to thank our supporters for their ongoing commitment and for helping create jobs in our community.”

Site tours of Goodwill’s production area will be available this week. Call 440-964-3565 to schedule a tour.
