Spring cleaning days planned for Ashtabula County townships

Several townships have announced clean-up days for residents.

• Cherry Valley will have a Dumpster available April 26 and 27 at the town hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Garbage, construction debris, yard waste and appliances without coolant removed will not be accepted.

• Hartsgrove Township’s clean up day is 8 a.m. to noon May 18 a the township hall.

A trash disposal truck will be available for collection of large items and debris only. No household garbage will be accepted. Do not dump prior to 8 a.m. or after the truck departs.

The township will accept up to four tires per household at no charge. Proof of township residency will be required. Additional tires and those larger than passenger car or light truck tires will be accepted at a cost of $3 each. No tires on rims will be accepted.

To defray the costs of clean-up day, metals, including computers, appliances, ferrous and non-ferrous recyclable metals, plus batteries, will be accepted.

No paint, chemicals or other hazardous materials will be accepted.

• Andover Township’s spring cleaning day is May 3 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and May 4 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Roadside pickup will not be available. Items must be taken to Andover Village Public Works, State Route 7, Andover. Senior citizens who are residents and disabled/unable to transport material must call the township garage the week of April 22 to make an appointment for pickup.

Items not accepted include tires, paint, oil, batteries, hazardous materials, garbage and construction materials. Appliances will be accepted only if they are tagged to indicate that refrigerant has been removed.
