Motorists in Plymouth face another road closing

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP — Motorists face another road closing on State Road for road construction.

According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, the intersection of Carson and State roads will be closed for 30 days for culvert replacement, road widening, paving and drainage work.

The work began Monday, ODOT officials said.

The detour is Plymouth Road to Beck Road to Seven Hills Road to Howard Road to Jefferson Road.

The new road work comes at a time when motorists and residents who travel State Road already face a maze of detours because State Road over Interstate 90 is closed through early October. The detour is Seven Hills Road to Jefferson Road to Route 46.

Route 11 is reduced to one lane in each direction over I-90 via a crossover condition.

The I-90 westbound ramp to Route 11 southbound is closed through late September. The detour is Route 11 north to Seven Hills Road to Route 11 south.

The Route 11 southbound ramp to I-90 eastbound is closed through late September. The detour is Route 11 south to Route 46 to Route 11 north.

This work is part of a $68 million project to replace pavement along I-90 from just west of Route 45 to just east of Route 11. The project also includes modifications to the I-90 and Route 11 interchange and repairs to seven bridges along I-90, according to ODOT officials.
