‘Hair-Ball’ event to benefit the Animal Protective League

SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP — A reverse raffle to benefit the Ashtabula County Animal Protective League will be held April 5 at the Saybrook Banquet Centre, 3116 N. Bend Road, Saybrook.

The “Hair-Ball” event starts at 5 p.m. Tickets are $60 per couple, and includes dinner, drinks, open bar, entertainment by a disc jockey, main board/side board raffles, and various drawings for such items as Walt Disney World tickets, Cleveland Indians loge ticket for 12 persons, football autographed by Joe Thomas of the Cleveland Browns, stays at the Lodge and Conference Center and casinos and a wellness package from the Healthy Smile Center in Ashtabula.

Tickets are available by calling 440-344-7311 or visiting the APL shelter on Green Road in Kingsville Township.

The Hair-Ball is the latest in a series of fundraisers to assist the APL. Now under way is the Nassief Auto Group’s Donate To Win drive that rewards donors with a chance to win a car. On May 3, the organization’s first “Furocious” 5K run/1 mile walk, which is part of the Ashtabula Distance Runners Club Grand Prix series.

“All of these upcoming events directly support the Ashtabula County APL and all of the funds raised are used in our mission of ensuring the best treatment for the homeless cats and dogs of Ashtabula County until they find their forever homes,” Justin Sartori, APL board president, said in a statement.
