Of all the things the Madison Township and Euclid police officers found stolen from Eleanor Robertson’s home, they never found the biggest piece of evidence of all — her mini van.
“We believe the van is somewhere in Ashtabula County,” Madison Township Police Chief Leonard DelCalzo said. “We think it could be in a wooded area or even in a pond.”
DelCalzo said that while officers have searched the area “extensively,” the van is still missing and he hopes sharp-eyed hunters might come across it while they are looking for some big-point buck.
“We searched pretty well on three occasions,” he said. “Even the Ohio State Highway Patrol flew their plane over the area to look for the van, but with the summer foliage so thick, you could be standing on it and not see it.”
The 1995 Plymouth Voyager van is a red/ maroon/burgundy color, DelCalzo said.
“It is our hope that hunters will come across the van and notify us immediately,” he said. “They can get to places in the woods that we may not have access to or even know about.”
Anyone who sees the van should call the Madison Township Police Department at (428-2116).
