Early Learning Center announces fees

ASHTABULA — Although most families are looking forward to summer vacation, the Early Learning Center Preschool in the Ashtabula Area City School District’s is ready for the 2013-2014 school year.

The preschool announced its fees for the upcoming school year on Tuesday:

• For a typically enrolled child (one without special needs), the cost is $100 per month. The preschool also has a "sliding fee scale"  based on family income.  Should families qualify, tuition could be less than $100 a month.

Classes at the Early Learning Center are Monday – Thursday.  Morning classes are from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; afternoon  classes are from 12:45 p.m. to  3:15 p.m.

The Early Learning Center follows the Ohio Department of Education content standards that are aligned with the K-3 standards, directly connected to the state mandated,  third Grade Guarantee.

The Early Learning Center's four content areas cover a wide range of needs: physical and motor developmental, social emotional development, cognitive and general knowledge standard and approaches to learning standard.  

These were adopted in October to align with the K-3 standards.

All of the center’s teachers are hold a valid teaching licenses or certification with the state of Ohio.

Parents interested in enrolling their children may pick up an application and packet at the center or they may call 440-992-1281, and a packet will be mailed to them.  Birth certificate, proof of residency and a photo ID are required.  The Early Learning Center is  2630 W. 13th St. (former Thomas Jefferson Elementary). Office hours are 8:15 a.m. – 4 p.m.
