AKRON — A handful of new road closures prompted by state highway projects will take effect starting next week at various locations around Ashtabula County, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation’s District 4 office in Akron.

• Interstate 90 westbound ramp to Route 45 in Austinburg, Plymouth and Saybrook townships will be closed to traffic for 24 hours starting 7 p.m. Tuesday. The detour is I-90 westbound to Route 534, then back on I-90 east to Route 45.

• The Route 45 entrance ramp to I-90 west will be closed beginning 7 p.m. Tuesday and will reopen 24 hours later. A detour will be posted.

• Foreman Road beneath I-90 will close Tuesday for bridge demolition work. The road is scheduled to reopen on Sept. 10. Detour is Clay Street to Route 45 to Austinburg Road.

• Resurfacing work scheduled to start Tuesday on Route 322 in Orwell and Orwell, Colebrook and Wayne townships will cause lane restrictions between the Orwell line and Route 193. The $1.8 million project, which includes bridge deck replacement work on Route 7 between Route 167 and Marcy Road, will be completed by the end of October.
