JEFFERSON — The Jefferson Senior Center  has a full line-up of activities in store for the month of September.

The center is happy to welcome back Toni Tulajew, who will be helping out as senior coordinator until further notice.

Tulajew has several trips planned for the month including the center’s monthly trip to Presque Isle Downs and Casino, the Middlefield Flea Market, Brandt’s Apple Orchard, an evening at the movies and a trip to Wagon Trails.

The center will travel to Presque Isle Downs and Casino Sept. 6. The cost is $20 and the van will leave from the senior center at 12:30 p.m.

The center is trying to get two buses filled so anyone planning on attending can spread the word and invite some friends.

The bus will make its traditional stop at Krispy Creme for donuts before heading home.

Seniors will travel to the Middlefield Flea Market, the Cheese Factory and Mary Yoder’s for lunch on Sept. 9.

Cost is $8 and the van leaves from the center at 9 a.m.

The flea market opens early with a lot of items to purchase and a variety of fruits and vegetables.

The senior van will leave the center at noon to take seniors to Brandt’s Apple Orchard on Sept. 13. Cost is $5.

Sept. 17 will play host to an evening at the movies. The van will travel to The Ashtabula Cinemas to take in a flick.

The cost is $3 for the van and $5.50 at the movie theater. The time is yet to be determined, but usually between 4 and 5 p.m. Anyone interested in attending should sign up and leave a phone number.

The final trip of the month will be to Wagon Trails petting zoo in Vienna. Cost is $8 and admission to the park is $14.99. The park does not accept credit cards, only cash.

The van will leave the center at 9 a.m. Wagon Trails is a petting zoo along with a safari ride where the animals come up and patrons can feed them while riding through the park.

The center will also host its regular activities throughout the month.

The Jefferson Senior Center will be closed Monday Sept. 2 in observance of Labor Day.
