Two dead after fatal crash Saturday night in Madison

MADISON TOWNSHIP — A 52 year old man and a 36 year old female were killed late Saturday night during a crash at the intersection of Griswald and South Madison roads, according to Sgt. Matthew Byers of the Madison Township Police Department.

Byers said a maroon 2002 Honda was westbound on Griswald Road, crossed South Madison Road and left the west side of the roadway where it rolled over onto a grassy embankment.

He said the two people were pronounced dead at the scene. The death is being investigated by the Lake County Coroner and the Madison Township Police Department.

“Alcohol is believed to be a factor,” Byers said. Further information is not being released pending the notification of family.
