The public is invited to join the Geneva American Legion Post #124 for the annual Veteran’s Day ceremony at the post headquarters on Park and Eagle streets.
The traditional ceremony, held at 11 a.m., will include presentations by veterans including post Commander Donald Branford, the “Navy Hymn,” and the “Star Spangled Banner,” before a rifle salute.
Ohio Chief Justice William O’Neill, who will speak inside after the ceremony. O’Neill is a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he earned the Bronze Star in Vietnam. He retired from the military in 2001 as a lieutenant colonel in the Ohio National Guard.
Refreshments will be served in the post headquarters after the ceremonies.
Brandford said he is proud to continue the tradition of honoring veterans on Veteran’s Day and every day.
“We honor their sacrifice and their courage on this day every year,” Branford said. “We bring that message of honor to Geneva, a city that takes pride in the service of its residents.”
