Man who threatened two people with gun arrested in Conneaut

CONNEAUT — A Conneaut man who threatened another man with a loaded pistol Monday afternoon faces multiple charges — including one felony — in Conneaut Municipal Court, according to reports.

Eric Bradley, 48, 442 Lake Shore Court, has been charged with felony weapons under a disability, a court spokeswoman said. Bradley has spent time in jail and is not permitted to possess a weapon, according to documents. He also has been charged with aggravated menacing and inducing panic, the spokeswoman said. Other charges are pending, she said.

Bradley has a Monday morning preliminary hearing, and will be represented by a public defender.

Police were contacted around 3 p.m. Tuesday regarding a man with a gun who was threatening people in the vicinity of Ackerman and Harbor streets. Officers found three people standing in the intersection. All were ordered to the lay on the ground, including one man who matched the description of the gunman, according to a report.

A witness told officers Bradley had argued with a man, went inside a nearby house and then emerged moments later. After taking off his jacket and shirt in the street, Bradley produced a small semi-automatic handgun from a pants pocket, pulled the slide on the gun and then returned it to a pocket. Bradley then threatened to shoot the man. When a witness intervened, telling Bradley to go home, he threatened to shoot that person, too, officers said.

A woman identified as Bradley’s girlfriend took the gun from Bradley and returned to her house, police said. Officers went to the woman’s house, where — with the woman’s help — the weapon was located in a bedroom, hidden in a box of nails, according to a report. Police located the pistol.
