New antique co-op is supported by diverse group of dealers

GENEVA — What began as an antique camera collection has become a new store for Willard Moore, owner of Moore Antiques on North Broadway in Geneva.

“I have always loved antiques and I have always bought and sold them privately, like on eBay and just to friends,” he said.

But he and store manager Jane Hardy had been looking for a place to make a bigger commitment to retail antiques.

“We had been looking for a place for quite some time and we were excited to find this storefront here in Geneva,” Moore said. “This store is just perfect and Jane is so seasoned in the business that she makes the perfect manager here.”

Hardy, who is a seasoned antiques store owner and dealer, said the new antiques co-op is supported by a diverse group of dealers with a variety of interests and talents.

“Every dealer here has their own taste and their own interests,” she said. “That brings a variety of just about everything from primitives to the finer pieces.”

The store sells furniture, collectables, glassware and artwork.

“We work hard, and all the dealers work hard, to really make this a fun, exciting place to look for antiques,” she said. “It is amazing the things we all have in our collections that make this store so interesting.”

The co-op is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and is a member of the Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce.
