SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP — The Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in at Lakeside High School last weekend.

Sometime either late Friday night or early Saturday several  people entered the locked field house and a shed located near the football field, at 6600 Sanborn Road, according to reports.

The doors to the building had been locked, but appeared to be forcefully pulled open by several suspects. The intruders reportedly threw papers and other articles around the interior of the building and attempted to remove a television from a wall mount, damaging the mount, according to reports.

Several benches were damaged as well as a chalkboard that appeared to be hit with a stick. Several beer cans were also left behind, according to reports.

An outside shed damaging the plastic around a padlock. Once inside, they reportedly removed football pads and threw them around on the bleachers, according to reports.

The school’s athletic director advised deputies that some of the pads were missing as well, reports show.
