ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP — A cooperative investigation by area law enforcement agencies has apparently broken up a theft ring in the Ashtabula area, said Capt. Will Parkimaki of the Ashtabula Police Department.

“We had a string of daytime burglaries on residential streets,” Parkimaki said. He said a suspect was recently arrested in the city of Ashtabula and an investigation pointed to the possibility of another suspect’s involvement with a residence in Ashtabula Township,” he said.

Parkimaki said a search warrant was served at 3479 Fargo Drive in Ashtabula Township on Thursday.

“We recovered six flat screen TV’s, five firearms, a small amount of marijuana, several gaming system, various electronics, power tools and 100 rounds of ammunition,” he said.

“We still have a suspect outstanding.

There was nobody home (at the time the warrant was served),” he said.

Parkimaki said the Ashtabula Sheriff’s Office, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, TAG and the Lake County SWAT team participated in the investigation and serving of the warrant.
