Tickets are on sale for country music artist Joe Nichol’s show at the 2013 Ashtabula County Fair, a fair official said Friday.
Nichol’s performance, at 8:30 p.m. Aug. 8 at the county fairgrounds, cost $10 for first-come, first-serve seating. The $10 pricing does not include the $7 admission to the fairgrounds. Right now, tickets are only available by mail. Send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to Ashtabula County Fair, P.O. Box 546, Jefferson, OH 44047.
Tickets will be available starting July 9 at the secretary’s office under the grandstand at the fairgrounds.
“We expect tickets to go fast after July 9,” said Darla Vargo, fair board secretary. “People think it’s easier to go to the office.”
Vargo said plenty of tickets are still available, as the grandstand seats more than 2,000 people. Additional seating will be available on the race track in front of the stage.
Nichols, who was very popular with fair-goers 10 years ago, has since become a big star, said Dale March, one of three fair board members in charge of entertainment.
Nichol’s most recent chart-toppers “Sunny and 75” has him riding high right now. Fans can look forward to him singing his other hits, including, “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off” and “Eight Second Ride.”
The Ashtabula County Fair will take place Aug. 6-11.
The grandstand lineup also will include motocross, tractor pulls, two nights of demolition derby and a tribute to veterans who have been awarded the Purple Heart.
