District sets times to start, end day

ASHTABULA — Ashtabula Area City Schools’ officials have set important dates for the 2013-14 school year, as well as school lunch prices.

Classes for students in grades K-12 will begin Aug. 27, a Tuesday, officials said.

Lakeside High School students will begin the day at 8:30 a.m. and end at 2:30 p.m.

Lakeside Junior High School students will start at 9:15 a.m. and end at 3:15 p.m.

The Ashtabula Lakeside Elementary campus on Wade Avenue will start at 8:15 a.m. and end the day at 1:45 p.m.

Morning kindergarten students will go to school at 8:15 a.m. and be released at 10:45 a.m., and afternoon kindergarten will start at 11:15 a.m. and end at 1:45 p.m.

The morning Early Learning Center will go from 9 to 11:30 a.m., with afternoon students attending 12:30 to 3 p.m., school officials said.

Meal prices for the 2013-14 school year remain the same as last year. Students will pay $1 for breakfast, and lunch will cost $2.25 for elementary students.

Junior high and senior high school students will pay $2.50 for lunch, while adults will pay $3.
