ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP —
Three bids were submitted for Ashtabula Township’s summer street resurfacing projects, and with a quick turn-around expected, work will begin June 24.
Koski Construction Co. of Ashtabula was the low bidder of $143,100, which came in more than $20,000 less than the engineer’s estimate of $167,900, Jeff Bond, road superintendent, said.
Koski will begin milling and cleaning June 24- 26 on Court Street, East 39th Street and East 40th Street, Bond said.
“They plan to pave those streets on Thursday, June 27,” he said.
Koski Construction then plans to pave Knollwood Drive, Forest Drive, Tall Trees Drive and Waymar Lane sometime during the first week of July, Bond said.
“We hope that the delays and traffic issues are short and do not create a disturbance for the residents,” he said. “We ask that you plan ahead during these allotted time periods.”
Motorists traveling to Ashtabula via Route 11 are reminded that Route 11 is reduced to one lane in each direction over Interstate 90 via a crossover condition.
The I-90 westbound ramp to Route 11 southbound is closed through late September. The detour is Route 11 north to Seven Hills Road to Route 11 south.
The Route 11 southbound ramp to I-90 eastbound is closed through late September. The detour is Route 11 south to Route 46 to Route 11 north.
State Road over I-90 is closed through early October. The detour is Seven Hills Road to Jefferson Road to Route 46.
