KINGSVILLE TOWNSHIP —
Ashtabula County sheriff’s deputies increased patrols at the county nursing home early Friday morning after a caller threatened to bring a gun to the Dibble Road facility, according to a report.
No problems resulted and an incident did not occur, deputies said.
Shortly before 2 a.m. Friday, a woman who works at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Reh-abilitation Center received a call from a man she did not recognize. The man told her he was “coming up there and shoot all you (expletive) in there,” according to a report.
When the woman asked why, the man replied “I just am and you better get the cops up there now,” she told deputies.
The caller was calm and did not sound intoxicated, the woman said.
Deputies who responded to the center said the building was secure and doors featured plenty of good, electronic locks. Staff said surveillance cameras would be monitored continuously for approaching vehicles or visitors. Dep-uties also arranged additional patrols of the area.
A supervisor told deputies she was unaware of any relatives of center residents who would be angry with the center, according to a report.
