Mom who went to school with knife arraigned

JEFFERSON — A Kingsville Elementary School parent, who wielded a knife on school property Wednesday, was arraigned Friday in Eastern County Court of multiple charges.

Dora L. Hannold, 46, of 3947 Gore Road, Conneaut, appeared before Judge Robert Wynn, Friday afternoon on charges of illegal conveyance of a dangerous weapon on school premises, a fifth-degree felony; carrying a concealed weapon, a first-degree misdemeanor; and, aggravated menacing, a first-degree misdemeanor. Bond was set at $35,000 cash or 10 percent surety, according to a court spokesperson.

Hannold allegedly brought a knife on school property after being called to pick her daughter up because she had head lice, according to reports.

The school nurse reportedly told deputies Hannold’s friend called the school and told the secretary “not to let Dora into the school,” according to reports.

Hannold’s friend reportedly called back a second time to warn the school secretary that Hannold had a knife, according to reports.

The nurse told deputies, she was told by Hannold’s friend that she (the nurse) was the target and should “be careful,” according to reports.

As of Friday afternoon, Hannold had not posted bond and remained in Ashtabula County Jail.
