Car crashes during pursuit

MADISON TOWNSHIP — Three people were injured Sunday evening around 8:30 p.m. when car being pursued by the Ohio Highway Patrol collided with another vehicle near 6381 N. Ridge Road, said Madison Fire Chief Gene Lutz.

He said the Ohio Highway Patrol was chasing the vehicle and it collided with a car driven by a woman who had her daughter as a passenger.

Utz said all three people had to be extricated from the two vehicles. He said all three were taken to area hospitals.

The woman and daughter were treated for minor injuries and the man driving the car pursued by the Ohio Highway Patrol was in need of extensive medical attention, Utz said.

“We tried to life flight but there weren’t operating,” he said.

The Ohio Highway Patrol said they would have information regarding the crash this morning.
