Crash victims in critical condition

WINDSOR TOWNSHIP — Three people are listed in critical condition following a three-vehicle crash on Route 322 Saturday evening.

All three were flown, from the scene, by medical helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. The crash occurred at 5:42 p.m. just west of Wiswell Road.

A truck with a driver and one passenger was headed westbound on Route 322 when it slowed for an Amish buggy. A van, also westbound, was unable to stop, went left of center into an eastbound truck, according to reports.

The 2002 Ford Econoline van was driven by William E. Miller, 66, of Burton. Miller was in critical condition early Sunday morning, said Ohio State Highway Patrol Sgt. Keith Palmer. Miller was at fault in the accident.

Frank Petkosek, 37, of Painesville, and his passenger, Roxalana Hines, 31, of Painesville, were in critical but stable condition, Palmer said.

Matthew Coblentz, 18, of West Farmington, and his passenger, Raymond Coblentz, 18, of Windsor, were transported to Geauga Medical Center, Palmer said.

Petkosek and Hines were not wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash. Palmer said they sustained the worst injuries.

Alcohol is not suspected in the crash.
