Portions of routes 7 and 11 are closed to traffic for road improvement projects, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation's District 4 office in Akron.
A portion of Route 7 in Pierpont Township will be closed between Hall and Anderson roads will be offi-limits through May 21 for a culvert replacement project, ODOT reported. The detour is routes 6 to 193 to 167. The project is part of a $2 initiative to replace culverts along various routes in Ashtabula County this year.
Also, some of the ramps at the Route 11/Interstate 90 interchange and the immediate vicinity are now closed as part of a massive overhaul. Here's a list:
• Route 11 northbound ramp to I-90 westbound is closed through mid-October. The detour is Route 11 north to Seven Hills Road to Route 11 south to I-90.
• I-90 eastbound ramp to Route 11 northbound is closed through mid-October. The detour is Route 11 south to Route 46 to Route 11 north to I-90.
• Chapel Road over I-90 between Clay Street and Austinburg Road is closed through mid-June 2014 for a bridge replacement. The detour is Clay Street to Route 45 to Austinburg Road.
This work is part of a $68 million project to replace pavement along I-90 between routes 45 and 11. The project also includes modifications to the interchange and repairs to seven bridges along I-90. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by November 2016.
