MUNSON TOWNSHIP —
A Chardon man is dead after a one-vehicle crash early Saturday morning, according to information released by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Joseph E. Gall, 72, of Chardon, was pronounced dead by the Geauga County Coroner’s Office at UH Geauga Medical Center after he was transported from the crash scene on Auburn Road just south of Sherman Road early Saturday morning, according to the OHP.
“A 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer was northbound on Auburn Road when it crossed over the centerline and traveled off the left side of the roadway striking a ditch. The vehicle came to final rest in the ditch with very minor damage,” an OHP media release states.
OHP is investigating the cause of the crash that occurred around 3:46 a.m., the release said.
“Alcohol and speed are not believed to be a factor in the crash. Mr. Gall may have possibly had a medical issue that contributed to the crash. The crash remains under investigation,” the release states.
