If you’re dreaming of a white Christmas just like the ones you used to know, you are in luck this year.
Lots of snow is coming our way and with temperatures predicted to fall below freezing, there is a good chance area residents will see a white Christmas Day.
“Ashtabula County residents could see anywhere from 4 to 8 inches of snow by late (tonight),” said Brian Mitchell, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Cleveland. “The heaviest snow will fall close to the lakeshore.”
A lake effect snow advisory was issued Monday evening by the National Weather Service and is in effect until 10 tonight. “There’s a good chance of significant lake-effect snow,” he said.
It will get much colder today, with a high of only 25 degrees and a low in the teens. There again will be a chance of more of the white stuff.
Christmas Day will be a little warmer, with a high of 32 degrees. Chance of snow continues through the end of the week.
The National Weather Service warns holiday travel may be a bit slippery this week because of the snow and freezing temperatures, so give yourself plenty of time to get to where you’re going.
