Local vineyard to host free living Nativity to benefit food pantries

HARPERSFIELD TOWNSHIP — Sometimes all it takes is a nice walk in a rock labyrinth to clear your head and your heart, said Debbie Mahalik.

Mahalik, owner of Regal Vineyard (home of the haunted corn maze) will host a living Nativity on Dec. 22 to benefit the Geneva and Madison food pantries.

The vineyard, located on County Line Road, will open for the event from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“We are inviting the public to stop by to see our animals, including a donkey, goats, alpaca and most likely a camel!” Mihalik said.

The event will also feature a camp fire, hayrides and concessions will be available.

Admission to the living Nativity is free with the donation of a non-perishable food item. The food will be split between the Madison Food Pantry and the Geneva Food Pantry.

The evening will be made even more special with the addition of the lighted labyrinth, Mihalik said.

“Our rock labyrinth will be illuminated for night walks,” she said. “The luminaries will light our labyrinth and allow our guests

to experience the quiet night walk of the ancient tradition of the labyrinth.”

“Come and experience the reason for the season!” Mihalik said.
