Veterans Day ceremonies planned for Monday

— Veterans Day ceremonies will be Monday in Conneaut, North Kingsville and Ashtabula organizers have announced.

In Conneaut, the observance will begin around 10:45 a.m. with a procession from the American Legion Cowle Post 151 post on Broad Street to the veterans’ memorial outside City Hall on Main Street.

Guest speaker will be Armand Carlucci, a World War II veteran. Remarks will also be made by veterans Nicholas Church, Michelle Hall and Rick Gleason. Chris Brecht will offer thanks to veterans on behalf of the community. Master of ceremonies will be Richard Gleason.

Also participating will be honor and color guards from local American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts and the Conneaut High School Marching Band.

Meanwhile, North Kingsville will host a Veterans Day tribute ceremony at 4 p.m. Monday at Greenlawn Memory Gardens mausoleum chapel, 3140 E. Center St. (Route 20). The ceremony will be conducted by members of American Legion Neal Post 743.

In Ashtabula, the observance will begin at 11 a.m. at Veterans Park at the corner of Main Avenue and West 44th Street.

The Rev. Michael Meranda will serve as chaplain and the Rev. Robert Leonard will be the speaker. A Lakeside High School student will sing the National Anthem.  

American Legion Post 103 will conduct the ceremony.
