Come, if you dare, there’s a “Nightmare in Ashtabula”

SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP — The screams, scares, thrills and chills — the Lakeside Music Boosters’ first-ever, “Nightmare in Ashtabula,” has it all.

Located in the Saybrook Plaza, Nightmare in Ashtabula is a 13-room maze full of fright, including a 16 x 10 spinning vortex.

“Each room has a different terrifying theme sure to make even the bravest jump once or twice,” teacher Raena Sidbeck said. “It proves great things happen when parents, teachers and students get their creative geniuses together.”

So far, the response has been very positive, said Jodi van’tVeer, a parent volunteer.

“The cemetery and butcher's shop seem to be a crowd favorite,” she said. “We've had tremendous crowds.”

LHS music director, Joe Tredent, said, “We're beginning to have some repeat visitors, which is great to see.”

Nightmare in Ashtabula is open 7 p.m. to midnight Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Oct. 31, Nov. 1 and Nov. 2.

Admission is $5 with a $2 same night re-entry fee.
