Ashtabula County health department holds drive-up flu clinics

JEFFERSON — Ashtabula County Health Department continues its series of flu clinics with two drive-through events Thursday and Friday mornings.

Between 10 a.m. and noon Thursday, motorists can pull up to the Kingsville Township Fire Hall, routes 84 and 193. On Friday, curb service will be offered at the health department office, 12 W. Jefferson St., between 9 a.m. and noon, officials said.

Clinics are now held regularly at two locations: health department (8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. every Monday and Friday through Dec. 30); and Ashtabula Township Hall, 2718 N. Ridge Road East (9 a.m.-noon every Wednesday through Dec. 18). Beginning Oct. 10, clinics will also be held 1-3 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at St. Mary’s Church, Route 45 in Orwell.

County health personnel will also be holding flu clinics in several communities in the coming weeks. Here’s the department’s remaining on-the-road schedule:

• Thursday — Kingsville Township Fire Hall, routes 84 and 193 (drive-through 10 a.m.-noon)

• Friday — Health Department office, 12 W. Jefferson St. (drive-through 9 a.m.-noon)

• Oct. 1 — Geneva United Methodist Church, 86 S. Broadway, Geneva (1-3 p.m.)

• Oct. 2 — North Kingsville Village Hall, 7100 Municipal Dr. (1-3 p.m.)

• Oct. 9 — Monroe Fire Hall, Route 7, Monroe Township (9 a.m.-noon)

• Oct. 11 — Country Neighbor, 39 S. Maple, Orwell (1-3 p.m.)

• Oct. 16 — Saybrook Township Hall, 7242 Center Road South (drive-through 2-5 p.m.)

• Oct. 24 — Windsor Township Fire Hall, 5159 Route 86 (1-3 p.m.)

The county will provide regular ($20), quadrivalent ($25) and high-dose ($40) vaccine. Children vaccine is $5. The county also administers vaccine via a very small needle for people ages 18 to 64.  The health department accepts Medicare Part B and Medicaid and private insurance.
