JEFFERSON — rtain employees of the Ashtabula County Department of Job and Family Services.

Ashtabula County Commissioners, Thursday, approved a resolution ratifying an agreement between the ACDJFS and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 14. The agreement reflects a 50 cents (per hour) pay increase for all employees represented by the union.

Commissioners have been negotiating with the union for a wage re-opener agreement and on Dec. 18 a union vote was taken for ratification of the agreement for Jan. 1, 2012 through Dec. 31, 2014. The agreement was ratified by a majority vote of union members.

All bargaining unit employees, who are in active payroll status, will receive the pay increase on the first full pay period in January.

The parties will be discussing classification rates for jobs within the bargaining unit during the next set of negotiations for a full contract in the fall of this year.

In other business, Commissioners approved:

• A resolution approving a revision to the Ashtabula County Radiological Emergency Response Plan;

• A resolution re-appointing Alec Raffa and John C. Morrison to the Ashtabula County Airport Authority; and,

• A resolution authorizing the posting of unused or obsolete vehicles on the county’s website for public sale.
