A-Tech Student found with weapons in jail on $500,000 bond

JEFFERSON — An 18-year-old A-Tech student, who police say brought weapons on to school property, remains in jail today after a judge set bond at $500,000 cash or surety, according to an Eastern County Court official.

Jordan Wiser faces a charge of illegal conveyance or possession of dangerous weapons or dangerous ordinance on school property, a fifth-degree felony, according to court records.

He entered ‘no plea’ when he appeared before Eastern County Judge Robert Wynn Monday, court officials said.

Attorney William Bobulsky is representing Wiser, a court official said.

Wiser was arrested Dec. 12 after A-Tech’s principal called the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Department after someone told him Wiser had made several YouTube videos. The videos reportedly were demonstrations of tactical firearms usage and home defense tactics, according to reports.

School officials approached Wiser in the school parking lot. Officials were reportedly granted permission to search his vehicle.

A TASER and four gun powder pellets were discovered inside the vehicle, as well as a Colt 6MM air pellet rifle, a 9MM Glock air pellet handgun and a tactical vest containing a knife in the trunk.

Wiser said he was planning to go to a tactical course after school, according to reports.

He told deputies he forgot about the knife and gun powder pellets and keeps the TASER in his glove box for his protection, reports said.

Deputies reportedly viewed one video which showed the student giving a demonstration on how to protect yourself from a home invasion.

Wiser is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 8 a.m. today in Eastern County Court.
