ORWELL — KraftMaid Cabinetry Inc., a division of Masco Corp. of Taylor, Mich., has announced another layoff of employees effective Tuesday, Dec. 2.
The company has three manufacturing plants in Middlefield and Orwell.
This past May, more than 400 salaried and hourly workers at the three KraftMaid Cabinetry plants received layoff notices.
Kathleen Vokes, Masco corporate communications director, was unable to provide the number of employees losing jobs or which of the three northeast Ohio plants are involved.
“The layoffs are due to the economy and lack of orders. We are hoping to be able to call all the employees back to work as the economy improves,” Vokes said Friday.
Kraftmaid Cabinetry Inc. manufactures kitchen and bath cabinets and fixtures. Its employees are not unionized.
