SHTABULA - - A taxi almost ran over Jane Haines when her high heels caught in a sewer grate.
As Suzanne Kist walked past a skyscraper, a bag of garbage came out of nowhere and splattered all over her head.
The girls teased Sarah Toivola after someone mistook her for actress Christina Applegate.
But all and all, these three stylists from Ultimate Appearance, 4702 Main Ave., had a marvelous time last weekend at a hair-dressing class in New York City.
"This year's look is a very polished finish," said Haines, owner of Ultimate Appearance. "Styles are becoming more dressed - - from ruffled or messy to a finished look."
The women attended the Graham Webb International Academy at Wella Studio in Rockefeller Plaza. The name of two-day class was "The Architecture of Hair" and, at the end of the class, Kist won the title of "Best Stylist."
"That was really great," Toivola said.
Kist said she felt honored to win.
The teacher, Francesca Rivetti, is originally from London, and her work has been featured in national and international trade publications, showcasing her eclectic talent ranging from classic to contemporary hairdressing.
