GENEVA — Someone dumped a butchered deer carcass along North Avenue in Geneva early Wednesday morning, leaving the bloody mess for city employees to clean up, Geneva police reports show.
Residents on North Avenue could see a mess of blood and intestines along the road as flies began to breed on the mangled carcass of a deer.
Officer Derrick Yopp was called to move the dead deer from the roadway, but found the body had not been struck by a vehicle, police reports show.
“I found the remains of a recently butchered deer partially covered with a large blue tarp and dumped along the north side of the road,” Yopp wrote in his incident report.
Yopp described the scene as “a large mess” and was unable to clean it up by himself. An employee with the city road crew got the job and removed the deer, police reports show.
