ANDOVER — Ashtabula County Sheriff’s deputies arrested three people around 1 a.m., Sunday under suspicion of driving an all-terrain vehicle while impaired on Pymatuning Lake Road.
While on patrol, a deputy observed a four-wheeler traveling east on Marvin Road, going left of center and initiated a stop. The driver of the four-wheeler turned north onto Pymatuning Lake Road and kept going, according to the report.
According to the sheriff’s report, the passenger, Dianna L. Saxion, 35, of Williamsfield, turned around and saw the deputy initiating a stop. Then the driver, Molly C. Farmer, 26, of Andover, reportedly turned around and saw the deputy but continued driving without stopping, according to the report. Farmer finally stopped at 5942 Pymatuning Lake Road, where Saxion promptly jumped off and ran into the house.
The deputy called for backup after identifying herself and asked repeatedly for Saxion to return. Farmer complied with the deputy and stood still to answer the deputy’s questions. According to the report, the deputy suspected Farmer had a smell of alcohol on her breath and noted she was having trouble standing still without swaying.
Slurring her words, Farmer said she did not stop because “she wanted to pull into her driveway.” Farmer told the deputy she had had a “couple of drinks,” and when the deputy informed her she was being arrested for driving while intoxicated, she said: “You can’t arrest me for that. I was on a four-wheeler,” according to the report.
The deputy informed Farmer she was being arrested under suspicion of driving a motor vehicle on a road while impaired. Farmer also was charged with failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer.
Meanwhile, the backup deputy arrived to assist with the occupants in the house. Clinton Farmer, 28, of Andover, and Saxion came outside the house after the assisting deputy identified himself. After informing Saxion of her arrest on charges of failure to comply and obstructing official business, Clinton Farmer reportedly became belligerent with the deputy and kept getting in his face, even after being told to keep his distance. Clinton Farmer then was placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing official business, according to the report.
All three were taken to the Ashtabula County Jail.
