JEFFERSON — Back by popular demand, the Jefferson Farmers Market features home-grown favorites from around the county.
It resumes Friday at the Community Center parking lot at 11 E. Jefferson St. It will be open noon to 4 p.m. every Friday through Oct. 10.
The market will feature the best in locally grown produce and baked goods. New this year is a seller of honey-based products, said coordinator Susan Masirovits. Returning vendors will offer everything from beans to zucchini and apples, peaches, blueberries, and pumpkins, as well as cookies, doughnuts and sweet breads.
“In this time of concern and uncertainty over the safety of the food supply, it’s good to have such sources for your food,” Masirovits said. “Logic says that the fewer hands handling your food before it reaches your table, the lesser the likelihood of contamination.”
