GENEVA — Three men suspected in Thursday’s robbery of Rosemary’s Pizza were charged with four criminal counts each Monday, Geneva Sgt. Greg Wiley confirmed.
Derek Taylor, 25, of Jefferson, Thomas Taylor, 18, and Jourdan Lindquist, 19, both of Geneva, are charged with kidnapping, aggravated robbery, safecracking and theft, Western County Court records show.
Wearing ski masks and brandishing guns, two of the men demanded money from Rosemary’s Pizza employees Thursday night. The employees emptied the safe and the men ran to a waiting vehicle, police reports show.
The pizza parlor employees kept their composure, noting the color and condition of the getaway car, police dispatch reports reveal.
The employees described the vehicle as a gray car with rear-end damage and no bumper, possibly traveling east on Route 20, dispatch records show.
Following the all points bulletin directives, it didn’t take long for Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers to catch up with the car at Depot Road and Route 20 in Saybrook Township, where one suspect jumped from the car and fled into a wooded area. That suspect was apprehended near the scene, dispatch records show.
Police recovered the stolen money and a weapon. Though officers will not release the exact amount of money stolen, court records reveal the amount exceeds $500.
The robbery isn’t the trio’s first brush with the law, court records show.
Lindquist has been found guilty of theft, felony theft, breaking and entering, vandalism, receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a vehicle within the last two years.
Thomas Taylor was found guilty of consuming liquor under age in March and has an open domestic violence charge from a May incident, court records show.
Derek Taylor served three years in the Lorain Correctional Institution for aggravated robbery. That sentence came with specifications for gang-related activity, court records show.
