THOMPSON TOWNSHIP -- A Rock Creek woman died Sunday night at Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland following a two-vehicle crash.
Nancy McClusky, 73, died from injuries sustained from the collision.
The Ohio Highway Patrol Chardon Post responded to the crash at 3:20 p.m. Sunday near Route 166 and Clay Street.
McClusky was traveling westbound on Route 166 in a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan when she drove left of center to avoid a westbound vehicle that was stopped at the intersection waiting to turn south onto Clay Street. McClusky then drove into the path of an eastbound 2003 Chrysler Town and Country driven by Thomas Neff, 61, of Chardon Township, according to an OHP press release.
The two drivers and Neff’s female passenger, were flown to MetroHealth. Neff was treated and released. Both were wearing seat belts, which minimized their injuries, according to the press release.
McClusky was not wearing her seat belt, according to the OHP reports. The crash remains under investigation.
