ANDOVER -- Erin Pierce, Pymatuning Valley Primary School principal, has resigned to take on a new position at Howland Local School District in Warren.
Pierce’s resignation was approved by the Pymatuning Valley Local School Board of Education last week in a special meeting.
“We are going to miss her,” said Superintendent Jake Rose. “She is a good leader, a team player and she has done a great job.”
Pierce will be a kindergarten through second-grade principal in Howland.
The school district posted the position for Pierce’s successor through the Ashtabula County Educational Service Center. Applications will be accepted until July 8. All of the hiring details can be found on ESC’s Web site www.acesc.k12.oh. us.
“The interviewing and hiring of our new principal will be one of the first duties of our new superintendent, Alex Geordan, as my last day will be July 31,” Rose said.
Rose announced his retirement plans in March, and Geordan was hired in June. He will begin his duties Aug. 1.
