CONNEAUT — A Conneaut man faces two felony charges after he reportedly threatened a man and woman with a knife Friday night, according to reports.
Howard Murphy Jr., 41, 455 W. Main Road, Apt. 28, has been charged with attempted felonious assault and burglary, both felonies, as well as misdemeanor charges of aggravated menacing and inducing panic, according to a Conneaut Municipal Court spokeswoman.
Murphy was awaiting arraignment on the charges Monday, the spokeswoman said.
The incident began at 10:16 p.m., when police were contacted about an assault at the Mobile Grove trailer park, officers said. The caller and his girlfriend said Murphy came to the door and told the woman he wanted to speak with the man, police said.
The woman told police Murphy entered a room, then heard the male victim exclaim “No, don’t!” Murphy threatened to “gut” the man,” the woman told police.
The woman was able to maneuver Murphy into the living room, police said. The man and woman ran out a door and to a neighboring trailer where police were contacted, officers said.
Murphy left the trailer and was arrested a short time later, police said.
No injuries were reported, officers said.
