JEFFERSON — Five people were arraigned Friday and entered pleas to various felony charges before Common Pleas Judge Gary L. Yost.
The state was represented by assistant county prosecutors Gene Barrett and Bruce Bennett.
The following cases were assigned to Judge Ronald Vettel:
n Jose Oquendo, Jr., 23, of 429 Center St., Ashtabula, pleaded not guilty to charges of trafficking in drugs, a fifth-degree felony; possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony; possession of drug, a fourth-degree felony; and trafficking in drugs, a fourth-degree felony. Oquendo was represented by attorney Jane Timonere. The court continued a previously posted $3,000 cash or surety bond.
n JeremyA. Roth, 23, of 337 Brownville Road, Rome Township, pleaded not guilty to a charge of aggravated vehicular assault, a third-degree felony. Roth was represented by attorney Willam P. Bobulsky. The court set a $25,000 personal recognizance bond with the defendant ordered to refrain from using drugs or alcohol.
n Allen Tantari, Jr., 38, of 483 S. Parrish Road, Conneaut, pleaded not guilty to a charge of complicity to the illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs, a third-degree felony. Tantari was represented by attorney William Bobulsky. The court continued a previously posted $50,000 personal recognizance bond.
The following cases were assigned to Judge Gary L. Yost:
n Bradley M. Keen, 51, of 1931 W. Prospect, Ashtabula, pleaded not guilty to a charge of tampering with a vehicle odometer, a fifth-degree unclassified felony. Keen was represented by attorney Thomas J. Simon. The court set a $25,000 personal recognizance bond.
n David L. Pinson, 21, of 136 Marshall St., Conneaut, pleaded not guilty to a charge of possession of drugs (percoset), a fifth-degree felony. The court appointed public defender Dean F. Topalof as defense counsel. A previously posted $2,000 bond with 10 percent deposit was continued.
