JEFFERSON — Seven people were arraigned last week and entered pleas to various felony charges before Common Pleas Judge Gary L. Yost.
The state was represented by County Prosecutor Thomas Sartini.
The following cases were assigned to Judge Alfred Mackey:
n Shawn R. Smith, 20, of 7153 State Route 86, Windsor Township, pleaded not guilty to one count of burglary. The court appointed public defender Dean Topalof as defense counsel. A $10,000 personal recognizance bond was set with the condition Smith have no contact, directly or indirectly, with the alleged victim.
n John R. Sharp, 38, of 381 Old Main St., Conneaut, pleaded not guilty to one count of burglary. The court appointed Topalof as defense counsel. A bond of $10,000 cash with 10 percent deposit rule was set with the condition, Sharp have no contact, direct or indirectly, with the victim and the Old Main St. address.
n Lloyd M Compton, 42, of 6110 Kenneth Ave., Cleveland, pleaded not guilty to one count of assault. The court appointed public defender Joseph Humpolick as defense counsel. A $15,000 cash with 10 percent rule was continued.
The following cases were assigned to Judge Ronald W. Vettel:
n David A. Vandekop, 32, of 6687 Leon Road, Andover, pleaded not guilty to two counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor; two counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor; two counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor; and one count of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor. The court appointed Humpolick as defense counsel. A $75,000 bond in cash with the 10 percent rule was continued.
n Wesley O. Braat, 21, of 16 N. Broadway, Apt. 5, Geneva, pleaded not guilty to one count of attempted burglary. He is represented by attorney Leo J. Talikka. The court continued a previously posted $10,000 cash with the 10 percent rule bond.
The following cases were assigned to Judge Gary L. Yost:
n Tami L. Roberts, 40, of 5525 State Road, Apt. 77, Ashtabula, pleaded not guilty to one count of possession of drugs. The court appointed public defender Marie Lane as defense counsel. A $5,000 cash with 10 percent deposit bond was continued.
Roberts also pleaded not guilty to a separate indictment charging her with tampering with evidence and possession of cocaine. The court continued a $5,000 cash with 10 percent deposit bond. Lane was appointed as defense counsel.
