Input needed from RC people

ROCK CREEK — County officials are looking for input from village residents to determine what they would like to see improved throughout the village.
The Ashtabula County Community Services Office is sending a survey out to all residents in Rock Creek asking which projects they think are the most important. The survey is being conducted so the county can apply for a Community Development Block Grant, said Mayor Beverly Martin.
“We need to have a project survey done to see what village residents want to see improved and what is most important,” she said.
Martin said there are several streets in the village that are in need of paving and the grant will hopefully assist in funding those projects.
“Liberty Street is really bad,” she said.
Martin said it is also possible the grant could be used to extend the sidewalks which are being funded through a state grant even further down Route 45.
The exact amount of the grant is unknown but Martin said it could be around $300,00. The amount will also depend on if the village needs any matching funds, she said.
The surveys are being mailed to residents or they can be picked up at Village Hall on May 19 at 7 p.m. at a meeting with Janice Switzer of the Community Services Office, who will be discussing the survey with residents in more detail.
